Bradbury Village July Update

In November this year our Bradbury Village will open and start to be used by people with sight loss and/or dementia. And we are really excited about this.

Within the design there will be a shop, cinema, bus stop, bar, café bar, sensory room, activity room and an external court yard. The corridors will also be decorated to give the appearance of a number of streets.

To enable our residents to visit each of these and get stimulus from them, we are looking for volunteers who can spend some time exploring the various parts of our Village.

If you are interested please get in touch with Elaine Rollinson on 01229 440556.

The Bradbury Village – Update

Construction has started at Ostley House on our new Bradbury Village. The Village will provide stimulus for residents and include a new activity room, sensory room, cinema and shops. The dining room will also be enlarged.

The photos show where half of the old dining room use to be. The concrete was poured into the area in readiness for the timber walls and roof to be constructed. We recently sought guidance from firms about the internal design, to ensure the lighting and contrast are suitable for visually impaired people and the layout was right for people who have dementia.
