About Us

The Society aims to support visually impaired people who live within Barrow-in-Furness and the surrounding area.

To achieve this, the charity:

  • Provides information and advice to visually impaired people and to their families and carers
  • Provides visually impaired people with a range of sight loss support and social activities
  • Helps visually impaired people of all ages to live independently
  • Promotes awareness of sight loss issues
  • Supports people within a residential home

We produce a quarterly newsletter, Viewpoints, which is full of interesting articles relating to sight loss and what is happening within our Society at the moment.

2019 K2B and C2B

11th of May 2019 was the annual Keswick to Barrow / Coniston to Barrow. charity sponsored walk.

The sun was shinning, birds where singing as our two teams ventured up to the starting line`s at the ungodly morning hours. Both teams battled through , some ran the whole event, others went at a fast pace, achieving for many their very 1st K2B/C2B Challenge.
